GPA (Gravitational Pattern Alignment) is a systematic and unique methodology utilizing a dozen or more manipulative procedures on each single visit creating a complete structural correction and body-balance. The GPA technique is based on achieving a bilateral postural symmetry in the weight bearing position from pedal(foot) foundation to the skull.
Gravitational Pattern Alignment is a chiropractic methodology developed by Dr. Nelson Vetanze in his 44+ years of Chiropractic Practice. In 2016 he developed a program to teach other chiropractors on this methodology of treating patients. With over a million of views on our YouTube videos we get calls and emails all the time for chiropractors who are trained in GPA. The following chiropractors have gone through online or hands on training. The Chiropractors identified as GPA Master Certification have gone through hands on shadow training with Dr. Vetanze. What is it and why in a doctors office?
I first heard about BTL and their products when a representative was sent to me from another doctor. After listening to the rep. I knew exactly why he was sent to me. After lunch we were invited to a seminar hosted by BTL. There were a lot of medical doctors there all looking into equipment to start a MedSpa. I sat through two days of different doctors and others speaking on the equipment that BTL provides. Two in particular caught my attention, one is called the EMSculpt Neo, the second is called the EMSella. Both serve different purposes. Currently we have the EMSculpt Neo so we are going to focus on that.
What was so interesting about a piece of equipment that is used in the MedSpa world? One of the speakers was an Orthopedic surgeon, he shared an experience with the group about a Motorcycle racer that had a crash at a high rate of speed. This racer lost all function of his right leg, he was in a wheelchair. He had tried anything and everything.
There didn’t seem to be any apparent reason for his leg to not work. It was healed, everything was intact but no matter what he did he could not get it to respond. The surgeon was a personal friend and told him about this new device he had that he bought mainly for fat removal. He explained that this machine worked in a way that other devices do not. It combined Radio Frequency (RF) technology with a technology called HIFEM+ which stands for High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic wave.
The wave penetrates through the fat of the body and stimulates the muscle. It stimulates the muscles and contracts them about 20k times in a 30 minute session. Giving you the equivalent of 20 thousand reps of any muscle you are stimulating. This process is known as Hypertrophy, an increase in muscle cell size. The big surprise is there is very little to no pain or discomfort after the treatment or the next day. The other amazing result of this technology is the creation of new muscle cells called hyperplasia, this is why this combination can increase muscle by up to 25%.
What did the racer have to lose?
So, trusting the doctor, he said why not. The next thing that happened was we started to watch a video. It introduced you to the racer and showed clips of him before, during and after the race and the surgeries that followed. The racer was sitting there with a camera and was explaining that he wanted to film this first time experience. The racer explains that he had tried all kinds of therapies and nothing was able to make his leg even move. To his surprise when they started the therapy his leg started to move. Needless to say he continued with the therapy. The film goes on to show him doing squats and playing basketball.
This result led to the Surgeon wanting to understand what this phenomenon is. He went on after the film discussing the issue of muscles that seemingly have no apparent problems, but do not function. This got my attention because this is something that I have also encountered and treated with some success. We were able to get movement back into a patient’s arm and increased his range of motion following a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) 40+ years ago, with another amazing piece of equipment we have called a SoftWave, however, while it does stimulate the the bodies ability to heal through the release of stem cells it cannot build muscle. Along comes the EMSculpt Neo.
We now have a patient who had four C-sections and could not feel below the scar tissue or activate the muscles below that point. The very first session she experienced sensation and was able to feel the muscles contract and was able to sit up without a struggle. I look forward to seeing the other patient that had the MVA to see what we can do for him.
Some of you may be asking what about the RF technology I mentioned earlier, how does that work? The RF penetrates the fat and the RF heats up the fat to emulsify it while at the same time it destroys the fat cells. The body then re-absorbs the fat and the destroyed fat cells and eliminates it over the next 90 days. Sorry this is not an instant fix, there are pictures of significant changes within a month, but it can be a very effective long term fix.
